Meet Our Board

The Henrietta Foundation Inc. elects its board of directors each year at its Annual Meeting. The following officers have been elected to serve on the board of directors for the current year:

Board of Directors
R. Bud Snyder, President president@henriettafoundation.org
Bud is president of the Henrietta Foundation and has an extensive background in management and engineering for Rochester companies such as Bausch and Lomb, Eldre Corp., and General Dynamics. He has been involved in the United Way and is currently a member of the Henrietta Conservation Board. In his spare time he enjoys hiking and bicycling the trail with his family and restoring classic cars.

Paul H. Davis, Vice President vpresident@henriettafoundation.org
Paul is vice president of the Foundation. A lifelong resident of Henrietta, he works for Kraft Foods and has held the positions of vice commander and finance officer of the Ely-Fagan American Legion Post. Paul has been active in the Post, Upstate Investment Club, and the Cub Scouts.

Elizabeth (Liz) Thomson, Secretary secretary@henriettafoundation.org
Elizabeth is the Foundation’s secretary. She has worked with the Boy and Girl Scouts on outdoor projects and badges and is involved with Henrietta Neighbors United, the Henrietta Garden Club, and Literacy Volunteers of Rochester. She enjoys nature study, gardening, and traveling.

John Schmitt, Treasurer treasurer@henriettafoundation.org
John is treasurer of the Foundation and is involved in all aspects of the organization’s finances. In addition to having been in banking, he also served as paymaster at the Delco Division of General Motors, senior financial analyst at Stromberg Carlson, and vice president of finance at Genesee Survey Services. Having retired in 1993, John now volunteers for Rochester Free-Net, Inc., is a member of the League of Women Voters and Henrietta Neighbors United, and works with Habitat for Humanity. John also helps maintain web sites for several not-for-profit organizations in the greater Rochester area.

 
Committee Chairpersons
William (Bill) Dykstra, Project Director projectdirector@henriettafoundation.org
Bill is the Henrietta Foundation’s project director. Bill has been in the landscaping and tree service business for more than 45 years. He is past director of parks for the Town of Henrietta, was part of the planning team for the Lehigh Valley Trail's North Branch, and also developed Tinker Nature Park/Hansen Nature Center (an environmental teaching facility) as well as other parks. He is a New York certified nursery professional and municipal arborist and is a past member of the Monroe County Environmental Council, New York State Parks and Recreation, Genesee Valley Nursery and Landscape Association, and the New York Baseball Umpire’s Association. Bill is an avid fisherman.

Carol Pennington, Membership Coordinator membership@henriettafoundation.org
Carol coordinates the Foundation’s publicity and membership efforts. The retired town clerk and receiver of taxes for the Town of Henrietta, Carol has always had an interest in the town. She was one of the founding members of the Foundation and attended the inaugural meeting. Carol serves on the Finger Lakes Advisory Council and several other volunteer committees. Her favorite pastimes are gardening, relaxing, and feeding and watching the many varieties of local and migrating birds.

Dot Clause, Trail Garden Club Chairperson TrailGardeners@henriettafoundation.org
Dot coordinates the Trail Garden Club, a group specifically devoted to the care and upkeep of the public garden at the Trail's parking lot on East Henrietta Road. She welcomes your green thumbs in helping to keep our garden beautiful for everyone's enjoyment.

Hans Schwarz and Jeremy Graves, Trail Managers Trailmanager@henriettafoundation.org
Hans and Jeremy are in charge of keeping the trails in tip top shape. Contact them to help keep the kiosk free of bees, pick up the Trail parking lot, cut brush from encroaching, or to alert them of any problems you might see.
