Trail Clean-Up Day

Our trail needs constant maintenance, but to make it more fun, we periodically schedule volunteer trail maintenance days to keep it in shape.

Lehigh Valley Trail Garden Is Restored!
On August 2, a team of 12 volunteers gathered, putting in 60 man-hours of work to restore our public garden at the East Henrietta Road Trailhead to its former beauty. Thanks to Terry Tree Service for donating enough of its beautiful, high-quality mulch to do the job.

Calling All Gardeners to Join the Trail Garden Club
Dot Clause has offered to be our new Trail Garden Club Chairperson. To join the club dedicated to keeping our garden beautiful, please e-mail Dot at TrailGardeners@henriettafoundation.org .

General Information About the Lehigh Valley Trail Fall Clean-Up Day
We'll be having a Trail Clean-Up Day this fall aimed at cutting brush alongside the trail, as it grows rapidly throughout the summer and requires annual pruning. We cut it back at least an arm’s length from the edge of the trail surface.

Things to bring:
Drinking water, appropriate clothing (rain or shine event), work gloves, boots, long-sleeved shirts; hand shears, loppers, pruners, pruning saws, rakes; chain saws, motorized trimmers, and gas leaf blowers (with gas). Motorized tools are to be used only by the owner. You are responsible for keeping track of your gear and using it safely.

Things not to bring:
Pets, unsafe equipment, motorized vehicles (tractors/ATVs)

Caution: There is a significant chance you will encounter poison ivy, bees' nests, and other insects while clearing the trail. Please dress accordingly and come equipped with any remedies you may need.
